Staff WriterUNICEF’s Tap Project has partnered with Giorgio Armani and other corporate donors this year to provide clean water for the 768 million people who have no access to it. UNICEF is currently working in over 100 countries to restore hygiene, provide safe water, improve sanitation, and help children in need. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wetbh84MGOc[/embed] Here’s how it works: -Go to uniceftapproject.org on your phone. -The website will prompt you to set your phone down and not touch it. -The site uses an accelerometer on your smartphone to sense movement or vibrations. -During this time UNICEF will show you facts about how they are helping others and how many people are currently involved in the project. -How long you can go without touching phone determines how big a donation has been given. Every 10 minutes you go without touching your phone equals 1 day of clean water. The Tap Project puts it simply, “We think we can’t live without our phones, so why not use them to provide something people actually can’t live without: clean water.” I went without my phone for 30 minutes while researching and writing this article and provided 3 days of clean water. How long can you go for?
