Could Vampire Diaries star Steven R. McQueen be playing Nightwing onArrow? It’s not confirmed, but McQueen has definitely fueled rumors that he might be ready for the part.
McQueen, who plays Jeremy Gilbert on Vampire Diaries, has brought about a lot of buzz for the role through his Twitter account recently. On Novemember 9, he posted a picture of himself pumping some iron at the gym wearing a shirt with the character’s symbol, captioning it “Nightwing training.”
A few days later, he wrote “Had some superhero conversations with the executives this weekend,” and tagged the official @ARROWwriters in his tweet.
The evidence doesn’t stop at that. On the November 13, the CW actor posted a picture of himself posing next to a large Nightwing poster with Nightwing comic writer Kyle Higgins, as he captioned that they were “talking nightwing.”
According to executive producer of the show Andrew Kreisberg, having Nightwing appear in Arrow would be a fantasy cameo.
“Dick Grayson and Nightwing were always my favorite. I doubt we'll ever get to that point. The bat-universe will never coincide with ours, but Nightwing would be my fantasy,” Kreisberg explained in an interview with Comic Book Resources.
Perhaps Kreisberg has decided to follow his dreams and pursue the unimaginable. Although nothing has truly been confirmed, the abundant Nightwing/DC motif throughout McQueen’s Twitter makes a pretty convincing argument that we’ll be seeing him on Arrow very soon.
