Are you ready for a High School Musical reunion, Wildcats? Though they never actually had a duet in the original films, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens have reunited to perform a cover of “Ex’s and Oh’s” by Elle King.

The cover went live on YouTube Tuesday, January 3rd, debuting on Tisdale’s channel as a part of her Music Sessions series. The video was in high demand, as viewers wanted to see these two friends sing together:

“Welcome back to Music Sessions! I read all your comments and you guys wanted one very special guest and so I brought her in: my best friend, Vanessa Hudgens!”

Tisdale went on to say that, though the two never had a duet together on screen, they’d always wanted one! Tisdale’s husband, musician Christopher French, is credited with the musical arrangement in the video. He was previously featured in Tisdale’s hit cover of Paramore’s “Into You,” a video that pulled in over 1.6 million views.

Premiering in 2007, High School Musical was a smash hit for Disney and was their most watched film that year at 7.7 million viewers in the United States, with a global audience of 225 million viewers. The plot is a modern take on Romeo and Juliet, featuring members of rival groups auditioning for the musical at their high school. Hudgens played the introverted math whiz Gabriella Montez, while Tisdale portrayed Sharpay Evans, the Drama Club president and all-around diva who tries to sabotage the relationship between Gabriella and jock Troy Bolton.

Both Hudgens and Tisdale have continued to pursue music after their High School Musical days, with Hudgens' debut album, V, debuting at number 24 on the Billboard charts and Tisdale’s Headstrong reaching gold level.
