Now this is morbid.
A white tiger in a Delhi zoo, who mauled and killed a male student who jumped into his enclosure, has found an unusual form of celebrity as visits to the zoo where the animal is kept have surged
There are conflicting reports on how the student, 20-year-old Maqsoon Khan ended up in the tiger's enclosure. But eyewitnesses have stated
that he was leaning over the barricade and may have fallen down by accident.
His tragic fate has not scared visitors at all. The National Zoological Park in Delhi, where the incident happened, reported an increase in the park's visitors, particularly in the enclosure of the 7-year-old white tiger named Vijay.
He is being kept in quarantine and has been in observation since the incident.
“All the enclosures of the National Zoological Park are absolutely safe,” Amitabh Agnitori , the director of the zoo said in a statement. “No visitor can reach the moat wall of the enclosure without crossing the the stand-off barrier. This visitor... ultimately jumped into the enclosure which led to his death.”
For the sake of all those visitors, I hope that he is right.
