Voldemort: Origins Of The Heir: Teaser Trailer For Fan Made Film Released

The teaser trailer for fan made film “Voldemort: Origins of the Heir” has been released, and it’s definitely magical.

In case you missed it, there’s a trailer for a fan-made Voldemort origins movie circulating the internet, and hold onto to your wands and chocolate frogs, because it is all kinds of awesome.

Voldemort: Origins of the Heir is a non-profit fan film from independent production house Tryangle Films, inspired, according to the website, by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth book of the series.

“What made Tom Riddle become Voldemort? What happened in those years, and what really went down at Hogwarts when he came back?” reads the website’s description of the film. “There are some clues in the books which have not been transposed at all in the movies, but a lot goes unspoken. This is the story we want to tell: the rise of the Dark Lord before Harry Potter and his first demise.”

If the description alone isn’t enough to intrigue you, check out the trailer:

The story features a young witch named Grisha Mac Laggen (Maddalena Orcali), an heir of Gryffindor, who investigates a house elf scandal involving the murder of Hufflepuff descendent Hepzibah Smith (Gelsomina Bassetti)–and suspects that Tom Marvolo Riddle (Stefano Rossi) had something to do with.

Voldemort: Origins of the Heir has been in production since 2016, meeting with some legal trouble along the way. They launched a Kickstarter to fund the film, and were met with a takedown notice from Warner Bros. last summer. The filmmakers have since reached an agreement with Warner Bros., fortunately for us, and are currently accepting donations to support the project, which is expected to hit YouTube this fall.

Will there ever come a time when we, society as a whole, tell the famous boy wizard and his ever expanding universe, no more, enough is enough, please return to the cupboard under the stairs from whence you came? Probably. But I don’t foresee it being any time soon, and I’m personally totally fine with that.
