The Walking Dead fans have been wondering for a while about Daryl Dixon's sexuality. After being teased a while ago and with only further buzz about it, it has now been officially confirmed that Daryl Dixon is not gay, despite previous rumors. According to Robert Kirkman's latest stament in The Talking Dead, right after the show's mid-season finale, Norman Reedus' character is straight. The creator of The Walking Dead acknowledged that there had been hints in the comic books before regarding Daryl Dixon's sexuality, but things didn't turn out that way and that case is closed. Time for you to rejoice ladies! In his own words:
"In the letter column of the comic book that I do, I mentioned that there was a possibility early on about making Daryl Dixon’s character gay. I just wanted to clarify that the possibility is there and that I would have been fine with it, the network would have been fine with it — but we ultimately didn’t do that. I can make it official: Daryl Dixon is straight."
Despite Daryl Dixon turning out to be straight, the creator of The Walking Dead also revealed that there is going to be a gay character pretty soon. More specifically, that new person is expected to arrive in one of the fifth season's remaining episodes, once the show returns in February. Speculation has already begun and Jesus or Aaron and Eric from the comics are thought to be the new additions to the list of characters.
