Mindy has found herself the perfect boyfriend. He can make the perfect steak and he is very handy around the apartment. However, Mindy still has a friend she calls the "pinch hitter" so she has someone to take to Rihanna's book signing. Enter Peter.
Mindy goes with Peter to his apartment and discovers that he has horrible roommates. They somehow are able to remove her bra and underwear, without her noticing, while she asks about the Pomeranian that is painted half green because Peter's roommates thought it would be fun to dye her Dartmouth's school colors.
Back at Danny's apartment, he is planning on knocking down a wall that separates his two apartment so he can make room for family. Mindy has made her own plans for that second apartment and convinces Danny to rent the place out to Peter. Danny doesn't want to, but let's be real when has Danny not given Mindy what she wanted?
Meanwhile, Jeremy is on babysitting duty when Lauren goes out of town. Of course, playboy Jeremy doesn't know what he's doing and Morgan comes in to save the day. Jeremy is over the whole thing and is about to give up until the baby says Peter's name. This brings out Jeremy's competitive side and he makes it his mission to be able to take care of the baby. Morgan is able to help him out, but freaks Jeremy out by saying that taking care of a baby could be his new life. I mean you are dating a woman with a child Jeremy.
Mindy is at Danny's apartment when the contractor comes over and reveals that Danny is allowed to combine the two apartments. This gets Mindy to thinking that Danny wants her to move in with him and kicks Peter out. He decides to throw a party and Mindy finds out that Danny is combining the apartments for his mom, not Mindy. She is embarrassed and walks out.
Peter's party features a table slip-n-slide and he slides right out of the window, landing himself in the hospital with a concussion. Peter reminds Danny that he's read Mindy's diary so he knows that she's in it for the long haul. Danny and Mindy talk about living together and he tells her that he's "really, really nervous" about them living together, but says they can try anyway.
Mindy doesn't get upset, but says that with or without him she'll be fine. She tells him that she wants someone who is just as excited as her about being together. As she leaves, Danny mentions living together and Mindy says that he should ask her when he's not "really, really nervous." I detect some trouble in paradise for these two.
The episode was a nice mix of fun and drama. I could've done without the Jeremy and Morgan plot, but I understand every episode can't just feature Danny and Mindy. Even if that's all I really, really want.
