Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has inspired Fox’s next comedy series. The network has issued a put-pilot order to Psych creator Steve Franks after he pitched the idea.

DeTour will be a slightly out of sequence, single-camera, coming of age story that tells the story of a 30-something rock star, who walks away from the spotlight at the height of his fame in an effort to rediscover the parts of his life he missed while he was busy becoming a massive success.  The plot is similar to when Cuomo took a sabbatical to attend Harvard eight years ago.
