“30 Days Without An Accident” Brings In Record-Breaking Ratings For The Walking Dead

Fans of The Walking Dead have definitely stayed alive. Last night, 16.1 million viewers tuned in to catch the season 4 premiere of the zombie filled drama series. Season 3’s finale, “Welcome to the Tombs”, previously held the record with 12.4 million total viewers tuning in.

But not only did the telecast bring in the series’ most number of viewers, The Walking Dead also appears to be the #1 show bringing in the most viewers from the 18-49 demographic , even against Monday Night Football! The Walking Dead also dominated in television-related social media posts. Twitter feeds everywhere were buzzing with #TWD.

AMC president Charlie Collier showed his support and gratitude for the series and its fans. “Sincere thanks to the fans, who have welcomed The Walking Dead back for its fourth season with the highest-rated episode in the show’s history. We could not be more proud of this show and everyone on both sides of the camera who work so hard to give life to this story of character, leadership and survival,” he said. “So clearly, thanks to them, the dead have never been more alive.”

The Talking Dead, which premiered its 3rd season last night after TWD, also broke its personal record with 5.1 million viewers tuning in.
