I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but…
A recent interview between TVLine and Liars’ executive producer Oliver Goldstick confirmed that the summer finale’s big reveal was not a fake-out. Right now, we are “in hot territory and very close” to finding out Ezra’s true identity.
Goldstick informs TVLine that Aria will be in danger come season 4B. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing much of that danger in the upcoming Halloween episode. That will come later in the season.
Ezria has been deemed the ‘endgame’ couple since episode one. That idea hasn’t been contested until now, leaving the producers with an abundance of angry Ezria fans to deal with.
Thankfully, Goldstick insists that they will be able to handle Ezria in an emotionally satisfying way, seeing as so much of the show has been invested in their relationship.
In regards to Jake, Goldstick said, “Jake is returning, and it’ll be very complicated. We know he cares for her and she cares for him, and more than anything, he’s concerned for her welfare because when they met, she was under duress… So her duress escalates in 4B, and he wants desperately to protect her, but she won’t let him — because she’s got Ezra, right?! [Laughs].”
The producer also said that from now onwards, the girls are on a mission to find Allison. He points out, however, that Allison being alive is simply Ms. Grunwald’s theory, and not yet a fact.
The Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode, “Grave New World” will premiere October 22nd.
Until then, hold on Liars.
