You are about to see more of Ron Weasley than you ever expected! In a new clip courtesy of MTV from Rupert Grint’s upcoming movie, CBGB, Grint’s posterior plays a starring role. In the movie about the legendary NYC music club, Grint plays the role of guitarist, Cheetah Chrome of Dead Boys. In the scene Genya Ravan, played by Stana Katic, questions Chrome’s natural hair colour, Chrome proves it by flashing Ravan and granting the audience a view of his gluteus maximus
Not exactly something you’d expect to see from good ol’ Ron Weasley. However Grint has never shied away from playing interesting roles, with gritty ones like Malachy in Cherry Bomb and hilarious ones like Tony in Wild Target, he’s already shown a range beyond that of our favourite ginger Gryffindor.
Although only the trailer and the odd clip have been released, with the movie being set to premiere on October 9 which is the first night of the CBGB Music & Film Festival/Conference taking place in New York City. There have already been some criticisms regarding the cast and music choices. We’ve got Ashley Green as Lisa Kristal (Kristal’s daughter), Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry of Blondie, Taylor Hawkins Iggy Pop, Mickey as Patti Smith, and Johnny Galecki as record exec Terry Ork among many others, and although a few choices are questionable how can people not be excited about Snape- I mean Alan Rickman?
Either way, we won’t know until we see the actual movie, in the mean time check out the trailer
