Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion was released into theaters more than 17 years ago, but the film has never strayed from our hearts. The movie was about two best friends (Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow) who were returning to their hometown for their 10th class reunion, hoping to make a better impression than their high school days. The extremely relatable friendship and script that constantly invoked laughter made the movie a joy to watch again and again for people of all ages. After becoming a cult classic, fans kept hope alive and even debated faking it with Ramon if it meant we could be granted a return to the lives of the zaniest friends from Tuscon one more time.

Mira Sorvino attended the Emmy Awards Performers Peer Group Celebration and spoke with E! News regarding a potential Romy And Michele sequel offering some good news, along with some not so great news. “Disney, if you’re listening, everybody wants it!” Sorvino went on to confirm that the sequel has in fact been passed on by Disney in the past to E! correspondent Mark Malkin. “Me and Lisa and Robin would love to do a sequel. We have asked Disney before. It’s Disney that has to decide to say yes.”

I can’t quite comprehend what the hold up is–the film is so beloved and the fact that you have the right people in agreement to return should be an obvious interest for Disney. Don’t they have some sort of business woman special? I suggest fans of the film let their voices be heard and rally up (Twitter, Facebook, petitions perhaps?) to let Disney know we want another high school reunion and that we won’t go out with a guy who drives a rowboat!

Have a Romy and Michele day!
