Hilary Duff On Where Disney’s Lizzie McGuire Would Be Now

Ever wondered where Lizzie McGuire would be since we last saw her in Rome? Hilary Duff has an idea or two!

Ever since Lizzie McGuire’s adventure in Rome, all we’ve had is our imaginations to try to figure out where our favorite everyday teenager would be today.

Well, here’s a new headcanon to contemplate, and who better to give it to us than Hilary Duff to give us an idea of present-day Lizzie McGuire.

Duff thinks that McGuire would be college bound and “a little cooler than she was, but still not bitchy at all.” She muses that McGuire would be New York-bound with her family secretly following to keep an eye on the clumsy young girl for her next adventures. “I think she’s pretty smart. I can imagine her being on a path to something really special and great.”

Despite Duff’s confidence in McGuire, she feels like her character would be like the same girl we love that still makes a fool of herself. Instead of taking on Kate Sanders in the halls for wearing the same outfit, McGuire would possibly be making sure she makes the deadlines for the work that she forgot because she went to a concert. Or even dealing with the chaos of trying to make sure she nails the presentation she’s been working on for weeks when she forgot her notes the day of.

Other than embodying the character we know and love, Duff shares the clumsy tendencies that McGuire had. “I’m extremely klutzy in real life. I have scars on my hands because I was just cutting into an English muffin and basically, like, sliced the top of my finger off!”

Duff emphasized that she’s got a better sense of control than McGuire. “I’m much more in control of body than she was, and not, like, physically awkward, you know?”
