The CW has been looking for someone to fill the shoes of The Flash (Barry Allen) for the second season of Arrow, according to Digital Spy.
There is also a possibility that, if the superhero gets enough love from viewers, the character will get his own spinoff show down the road.
At the moment, there are currently three actors reportedly in the running for the role.
Under consideration for the part is Matt Barr, who fans may recognize as “Psycho Derek” from the CW’s own One Tree Hill.
He has also been on the CW’s Gossip Girl. Recently, Barr has been starred in the mini-series of the Hatfields & McCoys.
James McKay, an actor from Australia, is also in the running for the role.
He was in the 2010 thriller, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark alongside Katie Holmes. He can also be seen in the upcoming Josh Hartnett film, Singularity.
The third actor has been very recently announced. He will also be very, very familiar to you Gleeks out there. Grant Gustin, who is best known for his portrayal of Sebastion Smythe on Glee, is also under consideration for the role.
Gustin has also appeared on the recently cancelled CW revival of 90210.
Let the guessing game begin as to which actor may be brave enough to step into the role of this iconic superhero.
The Flash character will be introduced at some point in 2014. At the moment, a date hasn’t been set for the speedsters debut.
Until then, be sure to tune in for the premiere of Arrow on October 9th on The CW network. For UK fans, the second season will air on Sky1.
