Wil Wheaton Brings RPG Web Series

Wil Wheaton, actor and household name in geek culture, is bringing us to the next level of unique web series. Viewers will watch Wheaton and friends playing a role-playing table top style game called Titansgrave: The Ashes of Valkana.

For anyone not familiar, Wil Wheaton has had massive success doing what felt like the impossible to achieve - enjoying watching others play board games. Airing on the Geek and Sundry YouTube channel, the show Tabletop does just that. Wheaton, with his down to earth charm and clever humor, has an array of actors, singers, writers, and friends join him in playing games that you don't usually find on your average family board game night. Each episode highlights fantastic games while hilarity between the cast of players ensues.

This successful format won over a huge collection of fans of various skill levels. It encouraged people to, as Wheaton says, "Play more games!" across the world and even launched its own International Table Top Day.  The true success of that show however, was brought to light when last year fans of the show raised nearly 1.5 MILLION dollars to sponsor a season 3.

The outcry of fans wanting more has not gone unheard. In addition to the critical success of the the popular web series, Wil Wheaton and Geek and Sundry bring us the next level of watching people play games... Tabletop Role Playing. Along side Hank Green, Alison Haislip, Laura Bailey, and Yuri Lowenthal, we will dive into this story told through game play with Mr. Wheaton at the helm. (Not to mention make any tabletop game fan envious of having Wil Wheaton for a dungeon master.)

Unlike your usual game, the appeal of RPG format is that the world is open ended and the outcome depends heavily on the actions of each character and their success in completing said actions.  This style of gaming promises to test the creativity of its players and make for an exciting plot we can all expect to get absorbed in.

Titansgrave: The Ashes of Valkana premieres June 9th on Geek and Sundry YouTube Channel.  Check out the preview teaser below:
