Will Smash Be In The Running For An Emmy Success?

It’s that time of year folks when TV’s biggest shows, and sometimes the not so biggest shows, start rolling out their “For Your Consideration” campaigns in hope that come the night of Emmy Awards they go home victorious.

Even though NBC’s musical drama Smash came to an end after two short seasons certain episodes as well as cast members are being submitted in consideration for an Emmy Award nomination. The show is no stranger to the Emmys as last it year it was nominated for “Outstanding Guest Actress In a Drama Series” for Uma Thurman, “Outstanding Choreography” which it won,  “Outstanding Music Composition For a Series” and “Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics”.

 The official Emmy submissions by NBC for SMASH are as follows:

Best Drama Series

Directing: “The Bells and Whistles”, “Opening Night”

Writing: “The Dress Rehearsal”, “The Phenomenon”

Supporting Actress: Megan Hilty, Angelica Houston, Debra Messing, Krysta Rodriguez and Katherine McPhee

Supporting Actor: Leslie Odom Jr., Jeremy Jordan, Jack Davenport, Andy Mientus and Christian Borle,

Guest Performer (Male): Sean Hayes and Jesse L. Martin

Guest Performer (Female): Jennifer Hudson, Liza Minnelli and Bernadette Peters

So what do you think? Will your favorite episode or actor get nominated and take home the gold? The Emmy Award nominations are being announced on July 18 with the awards ceremony to take place on September 22.
