After the dramatic and upsetting finale of Xena: Warrior Princess in 2001, Lucy Lawless has revealed that there are talks to revive the the series.
Had an interesting call from a chap who wants to re-invigorate the #Xena brand. You guys may have started something.— Lucy Lawless (@RealLucyLawless) May 23, 2013
Talking to Stuff, Lucy unravelled her rather unrealistic ideas regarding the rebirth of the late character. “In my dreams, [we] would come back and basically stick Xena’s head back on her and go on a quest.”
Talking about the dedicated fans of the show, she confessed: “The fans were always devastated that we cut Xena’s head off… [They] will show up wherever you go, which is lovely because people are more inclined to cast you - that’s how it works in our business - that is currency.”
The series, which began as a spin off from Herucles, ran for six seasons starting in 1995 - but it’s future is still unwritten.
We can only hope our warrior queen will rise once again…
