As we previously have reported with details, Universal Studios Orlando Resort announced several months ago that they were planning to expand The Wizarding World of Harry Potter with more things for Muggles to enjoy. There were talks of Gringotts and Diagon Alley being adding in for fans to enjoy.
Today, Universal Orlando Resort officially announced via their Facebook Page that the expansion is happening and set to open in 2014. The expansion will be located in the Universal Studios Florida theme park, which is located adjacent to Islands of Adventure.
The new part will be called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Diagon Alley and will be modeled after the London area where Diagon Alley is located in the Harry Potter Universe. The expansion is heralded as “the world’s first centrally themed, multi-park experience expands The Wizarding World of Harry Potter across both Universal Orlando theme parks and allows Universal’s creative team to bring an unparalleled vision to this unique project.”
Confirmed to be included in the new area are a Gringotts Bank Themed Ride, Diagon Alley Shops, and travel between to the two parks via the Hogwarts Express.
Better start saving up your galleons, Muggles as you will not want to miss this when the attraction opens up next year!
