My nerdiness kicked in full force this week when Marvel revealed a few of the covers for the upcoming 50th anniversary event for the X-Men franchise.
I can’t even tell you how many times me and my brother would wake up super early to make sure we could watch the X-Men cartoon series. Despite the fact that we always ended up getting in trouble for being up and watching TV so early, we consistently broke the rules to catch Wolverine, Storm and Jubilee fighting crime and kicking butt. And if we weren’t glued to the TV, we were going through our dad’s trunks of comics.
Fans were wondering whether the various X-books would be tying into the X-franchise’s 50th anniversary event, X-Men: Battle of the Atom, and their questions were answered with the announcement that the books would indeed come with covers.
"I believe that there will be a cover for X-Men: Battle of the Atom #1,” said Anthony Bussard in the press release. “But I have seen absolutely no indication that Battle of the Atom #2 will have a cover.”
With this recent update and the next installment in the film franchise underway, fans of the series are literally in nerd heaven.
