X-Men and Marvel fans rejoice! A teaser for the new X-Men: Days of Future Past was released on both Vine and Instagram today. Hurray! In the micro-clip we are treated to glimpses of the star-studded cast. Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, Sir Patrick Stuart as Professor Charles Xavier, and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine all made an appearance in this promo. Nicolas Holt, who plays the blue-skinned Beast is also shown. You can watch the teaser here. A lot of action was packed into the approximately 6 seconds of film. There was a parade. People yelled. Guns were going off, trap doors opened, and glass broke. Wolverine’s head was shocked with a blue light. Professor Xavier protected his face from an explosion. Some girl made electricity. It seems like it was a normal day in the X-Men universe. For fans of the series whose whistle was wet by this tidbit of a promo, a full-length trailer will be released October 29th, which is a Tuesday. Before that on October 28th, you can join a Twitter chat with Bryan Singer by using the hashtags #AskSinger and #XMen. It’s only a few days away. I think you all can wait (at least I hope so). For those who don’t know about the film, “The X-Men send Wolverine to the past to change a major historical event that could globally impact man and mutant kind.” Peter Dinklage, from Game of Thrones, will play Sentinel creator, Bolivar Trask. Furthermore, it’s claimed that “X-Men: Days of Future Past blends the casts of the original trilogy and First Class”. Will fans embrace this movie? Probably. Or will fans be deterred from seeing this move because of time travel and the possibility of Hugh Jackman hanging up his Wolverine claws for good after this franchise installment? Doubtfully, but you never know until it’s released on May 22, 2014 in the UK and May 23, 2014 in the US.
