Not long ago, rumors of Fox turning one of its most severe Marvel holdings into a TV adaptation created quite some buzz online. After a while of endless speculation among fans, it has now been confirmed that an X-Men television series is very likely to happen.Fox co-chairman Dana Walden was the one to break the news during Television Critics Association Press Tour. According to her, the network wants to do an X-Men show badly and they are currently pursuing it through negotiations with Marvel. In fact, things might actually be close to a deal, as she stated that she hopes to make an announcement about it soon. The show itself might be in really early stages, but at least we are now aware of the direction of the discussions. Not so far-fetched after all, is it?Despite what most would think, Walden made clear that the network is interesting in creating a long-running series for X-Men and not a limited one. In addition to that, she clarified that the television show could only include characters from Fox’s X-Men universe, excluding chances of crossover with other Marvel shows. More specifically, she said: “The characters from the X-Men franchise are with Fox on the feature films side, so we won’t be including Marvel charcters that are at ABC with Disney.”Since it’s comic-book era on television, why not throw X-Men in the field as well? An already established franchise could actually end up doing wonders on the small screen, if done correctly. However, there is no doubt that the success of the film series makes it quite a risky choice. Leave a comment below and let us know what you think.
