Since Microsoft partnered with Chinese company BesTV in April to bring the Xbox One to China, it has been a long wait for gamers to get their hands on the console, which released in most of the world in November 2013.
That was, until Microsoft announced that the console would release in China on September 23rd of this year. Well, I’m sorry to say folks, you’ll have to wait a little longer.
A press release from Microsoft revealed that the Xbox One needs a little more time in the incubator before it can be released onto the Chinese market. According to the company, however, it’s for the gamers’ sake:
“Despite strong and steady progress, we are going to need a bit more time to deliver the best experiences possible for our fans in China.”
The statement then goes on to explain how Microsoft are overwhelmed by the response from China since the original announcement of a September release date, which included:
“pre-orders beyond our expectations and growing anticipation of our launch”
Don’t worry too much though, as the company has promised that the China release will come before January 2015. Players who pre-ordered a console in anticipation of a September 23rd launch will still be the first to receive their gadget, as well as what the company have described as “an added bonus”.
Can you wait a short while longer? Or do you want your hands on an Xbox One right now?! Let us know!
