SDCC’s X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Makes Its Way Online

In the days since San Diego Comic-Con several trailers for upcoming super hero movies have begun leaking to the general public including X-Men: Apocalypse!

In the days since San Diego Comic-Con ended, several high-profile trailers for upcoming superhero movies have begun leaking to the general public.  Chief amongst the footage that has made its way onto the world wide web is a sneak peak into the next chapter of 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise; the Brian Singer directed X-Men: Apocalypse.  Basically, you should prepare for your world to be rocked, because the X-Men are going hard in the newest saga of their adventures.

“I saw the end of the world.  I could feel all this death,” Sophie Turner, who plays a younger version of the flame haired Jean Grey, tells Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) in the trailer’s eerie first scene.  The visual goes on to introduce several new and recurring characters from the franchise, including the film’s antagonist and the first mutant to walk the Earth, En Sabah Nur (Oscar Isaac).

The trailer features footage from the film’s first five weeks of filming.  As a result, some of the footage is rougher and displays a behind-the-scenes peek at some of the special effects and editing.

The film is set to star some familiar faces from previous films in the franchise, such as Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), and James McAvoy (Professor X) alongside a collection of new faces.  X-Men: Apocalypse is set to follow the adventures our heroes found themselves in during 2013’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.  Previous heroes including Jean Grey, Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Angel (Ben Hardy), and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-Mcphee) are set to make appearances in their teenaged day alongside other series favorites such as Jubilee (Lana Condor) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn).

Fans of the franchise who were in attendance at SDCC were able to snag a promotional poster for the upcoming film.  The film’s director has also been teasing the film on social media and has been treating fans with extensive looks behind the scenes on set.

X-Men: Apocalypse is currently scheduled to premier on May 27, 2016, and it is rumored to be the final time that Jennifer Lawrence will be donning Mystique’s iconic blue look for the franchise.

Jackman is also preparing to hang up his adamantium claws in the coming years, though he has officially signed on for at least one additional film in the Wolverine storyline.  It’s sad to be saying goodbye to so many of our favorite heroes, but it is always uplifting to see new ones stepping up to fill out the lineup.  The days go by, but we will always need a superhero to save the world!

All I have to say after seeing this trailer is can it be May 27, 2016 yet?  I am DYING to see more!  How about you?!
