Having just turned 30, it’s hard for me to fathom what 92 will feel like. Will I be mobile? Will I still have my mind? Will I have any idea what the fuck is even happening? Unfortunately for me, I have about 62-years until I know the answer to any of those questions. Joy Lofthouse, however, already knows that 92 is going to be a great year in her life.

Lofthouse is a WWII veteran, a pilot to be more specific. And, for the first time in 70 years, she was reunited with her fighter jet, Spitfire. Yes, 70 full years after piloting Spitfire the last time, this 92-year-old granny plopped her wrinkly behind in the pilot chair and took herself for a little ride.
