Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul will star alongside Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried in new film Fathers and Daughters, Variety reports.

The Pursuit of Happyness’ Gabriele Muccino will direct.

The drama revolves around a famous novelist and widower (Crowe) trying to raise his five-year-old daughter while dealing with his mental illness. Seyfried portrays that daughter as an adult attempting to come to terms with her difficult childhood – Paul plays her love interest.

This is familiar territory for Paul and Seyfried, whose characters on HBO’s series Big Love were love interests as well.

The movie’s script is the debut for screenwriter Brad Desch, and was featured on the 2012 Black List of hot screenplays that failed to make it to production.

Fathers and Daughters will be produced by Voltage Productions and Busted Shark’s Sherryl Clark, executive-produced by Fear of God Films, and co-produced by Andrea Leone Films. Clark co-wrote the script with Desch.

With hit series Breaking Bad’s final season over, Paul is going full-steam ahead with his feature film appearances.

The Wrap reports that his upcoming projects include Dreamworks’ Need for Speed, Fox’s Exodus alongside Christian Bale, and indie films A Long Way Down and Hellion.
