If you have never watched ABC Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween….well, I guess we can’t be friends. This is one of the biggest and most popular television specials, coming (in my humble opinion) only second to the 24 hour special of A Christmas Story. That being said, if you have never watched it, you need it.
If you’ve already seen it, you know what you’re in for. You know this is the best television event of the season, and you’re not gonna miss it. So here’s what showing...
Starting Monday, October 19, the 17th annual event will begin with the last two Harry Potter movies and after, at 9ET, starts everyone’s favorite Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus. Closing the night off is Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride.
Night Two, October 20, consists of The Corpse Bride, this time maintaining the opening spot, and following is another showing of Hocus Pocus. Then, it’s a Halloween special of Stitchers, an ABCF original show. Casper takes the closing spot for the evening.
The third night of Halloween starts with Casper, and following it is The Addams Family and after that, Addams Family Values. The night is rounded out with I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The fourth night opens up with both Addams Family movies again, followed by Katniss Everdeen and The Hunger Games (which is overly fitting because it’s a terrifying view of society). The night ends with I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
Katniss is back for the fifth day, as The Hunger Games starts the night off. Following it up is the ABCF premiere of Sleepy Hollow. The night ends with Matilda.
The sixth day, which is a Saturday, starts with Matilda while ParaNoman comes next. It’s a night for fright for kids when The Corpse Bride comes back, followed by Jack Skellington taking over Christmas in The Nightmare Before Christmas. After that, Casper will drop back by, followed by both Addams Family movies, the ABCF premiere of Monster’s University and then the Sanderson Sisters round the night out with Hocus Pocus.
Sunday, the seventh day of Halloween, is much the same as Saturday, showing ParaNorman, The Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Casper, the two Addams Family movies, Toy Story of TERROR, Monster’s University, and Hocus Pocus.
You can never have too much Hocus Pocus and I’m so glad that ABCF understands that.
Monday, the eighth day, starts the week off with Sleepy Hollow, another showing of Toy Story of TERROR, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and then ending the night off with Frankenweenie.
Tuesday, day nine, starts with Frankenweenie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Toy Story of TERROR, Hocus Pocus, and then ParaNorman.
ParaNorman and Hocus Pocus are back for the tenth day, Wednesday, along with Dark Shadows, and then Casper.
Thursday’s eleventh day of Halloween brings in Casper, both Addams Family movies, and Hocus Pocus.
Friday brings some scares with The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, Hocus Pocus, and then Poltergeist followed by its sequel, Poltergeist II: The Other Side.
So what’s showing on Halloween? The best day of the year? Well, you won’t be disappointed with the night’s agenda of Batman, Batman Returns, Poltergeist, Sleepy Hollow, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and then a final showing of Sleepy Hollow.
