This is certainly not the type of news I wanted to report regarding Amanda Bynes. The troubled star has been removed from UCLA’s psychiatric ward, and has been transferred to a rehab facility that offers mental health treatment.

Digital Spy reports that Amanda was actually getting worse at UCLA, and that it was not conducive to her healing process. There have been reports in the tabloids stating that Amanda isn’t, in fact, being treated for mental illness, but some other nameless, less serious ailment.

Well, Radar Online is out to debunk those rumors. They spoke to a source close to Amanda who said, “To say Amanda isn’t being treated for her psychiatric condition is absolutely reckless and irresponsible. Amanda was actually doing worse at UCLA and it was a very scary place for her.”

The source then continued with, “The decision was made to move her to another facility that was in a much more serene setting and nurturing environment. Amanda is actually doing a lot better. It’s not only a rehab facility and does offer extensive treatment for patients in need of mental health treatment.”

Bynes, 27, is currently being treated for schizophrenia, but an official diagnosis has yet to be determined.

Amanda’s mother, Lynn, was recently granted an LPS conservatorship over Amanda, granting her the authority to make all life decisions on Amanda’s behalf.

We at PopWrapped sincerely hope that this new move will be just what Amanda needs to start down her road to a full recovery.
