It’s been quite some time since we’ve had Amanda Bynes in the news. In July, PopWrapped reported that Amanda was being held on a mandatory 72 hour “mental health evaluation” after being detained for erratic behavior.

Apparently, after being held in a psychiatric ward for the past few months, Bynes was scheduled to come before a judge on Friday, September 27. However, her attorney, Rich Hutton, has declared that Amanda is so far gone, that she would not even be aware of the court proceedings.

Hutton submitted court docs at LAX Airport Courthouse, and the judge agreed with his determination. Amanda’s case was passed on to the mental health court.

Bynes has been residing in a mental health facility in Southern California and been receiving psychiatric care.

Bynes’ mother, Lynn, has been granted conservatorship over Amanda, giving her complete control over Amanda’s health, estate, finances; basically all life decisions.

After September 27, it will fall to a judge to decide whether the current arrangement will be a permanent one.

I know we can bring the snark and sarcasm here at PopWrapped, but we are sincerely concerned for the talented Bynes, and really hope that she is able to find the help she needs to get her back to her hilarious self. We wish her nothing but the best.
