Not only did she offer the opportunity of a lifetime (an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas) but she also offered to pay off student debt. If her fans would send her proof of their stellar GPA and transcript, then she would help pay any of their bills. She got an outpouring of replies. Is Minaj even human? She went above and beyond anyone’s expectations. While nobody thought she would really pay the bills of strangers, they were pleasantly surprised. She was hell-bent on changing lives, no matter the cost.
“The rapper ended up offering to pay off more than $25,000 of her fans’ college tuition, loans and other school costs,” an E! News article states.
Instead of buying herself a Gucci outfit or Tom Ford purse, she gave priceless gifts to her fans. They wouldn’t have to worry about meal plans or monthly payments, at least for a few months. They could focus their attention on who really matters, like their loved ones. And they get to focus on what really matters (e.g., work and school), too. They made sure Minaj knew just how much she helped them or how much she could help them. “I only owe $700 for my online class. No family support, minimum wage job. It would be a great help Nic please,” one Twitter user pleads. What does Minaj do? She fires back with an assuring tweet. She writes, “Done. Dm.” However, she still had more work to do. She was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone else who needed the funds. After all, Minaj said it best herself.
“I am the generous queen! Ask Miss Ellen.”
