Utah Signs Their Very First Gay Marriage Certificates As Equality Keeps Ringing True

The rainbow flags keep being hoisted above new states every day, ushering in the new era of equality and truly what is the right thing to do.

Utah’s ban on gay marriage was struck down yesterday by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, who say the ban is a violation of the constitution. Yay!

The 10th Circuit Appeals Court covers a good potion of the western part of the United States, a place where gay rights are finally being able to get through the dark clouds of idiocracy. The states covered by that court are Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Wyoming, and of course, Utah.

The good news is the 10th Circuit Court is also considering the ban on same-sex marriage in Oklahoma, another place where there is bound to be a fight.

It’s been a year ago today that the U.S. Surpeme Court booted the Defense of Marriage Act (as it should have done years ago) giving the rights to gays, lesbians, transgender, and bisexual citizens to have their marriages legally acknowledged by the federal government.

It’s a very bright, hopeful future for the LGBT community and I’m ecstatic to see some progress finally being made after decades and frankly, centuries of horrible discrimination. Congratulations to the newlyweds out in Utah!

What do you guys think about this bright, new era? Sound off below!
