The legalization of same-sex marriage is really hitting its stride in most states. Wisconsin and Illinois have both fully legalized gay marriages as of late, with Arizona and multiple other states preparing cases against its being banned as we speak.

However, Texas’ power-holders continue their unfortunate streak of embarrassing hypocrisy.

This time, the Texas Republican Party has revealed one of the centerpieces of its latest platform and it’s pretty much the dumbest thing I’ve heard from the political scene in a long while, which is saying something.

Ladies and gents, the Texas’ top republican candidates want you to be rest assured that their “conservative” values won’t be tested. No, the “gay agenda” shall be stopped through… therapy!

Their latest platform doc has them not only condemning gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender individuals, but claiming that they can be “fixed” through “gay conversion therapy.”

In other words, these wackjobs are basically reaffirming that their minds are stuck in 54 B.C. If you think just the notion of a gay “turning” straight because it’s a disease to be cured is laughable, just wait until you lay your eyes on this quote pulled straight from their new platform:

“Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable alternative lifestyle, in public policy, nor should family be redefined to include homosexual couples. We believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin. Additionally, we oppose any criminal or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction, or belief in traditional values. We recognize the legitimacy and value of counseling which offers reparative therapy and treatment to patients who are seeking escape from the homosexual lifestyle. No laws or executive orders shall be imposed to limit or restrict access to this type of therapy.”

…Right.
