Veteran comedian and Country Music performer Tim Wilson has died at age 52.

TheComicsComic.com reports that Wilson died of a heart attack in Nashville Wednesday en route to a performance in Birmingham, Alabama this weekend.

Born in Columbus, Georgia in 1961, the comedian often used his Southern roots as source material and gained national popularity including stand-up tours across the U.S. and appearances on “The Tonight Show” and the syndicated radio program The Bob And Tom Show. Wilson’s act often included poking good-natured fun at “Redneck” culture along with similar comedians such as Larry The Cable Guy, Ron White, and Jeff Foxworthy, with whom Wilson wrote the hit song “Redneck 12 Days of Christmas.”
