British director Richard Curtis has hinted that his new film, About Time, could be his final film.

In an interview with Empire Magazine he said that he “waited a while in order to write [About Time]. This probably will be the last film I will direct.” The filmmaker, who was also responsible for hit TV series such as Blackadder, said that there was no real reason for this and that is was “just a feeling”.  In the interview Curtis also admitted it took him a very long time before he was ready to try his hand at directing movies. However, he did say that many of his favourite films were written and directed by the same people, citing Woody Allen movies as an example. “So it was quite a logical thing, but I wasn’t ready to do it at that point. And when I reached that point, I was ready to do it.”

About Time stars Rachel McAdams and Harry Potter actor Domhnall Gleeson. It focuses on a 21-year-old who discovers that he can time travel and change his life. The film opens in the UK on September 4 and in the US on November 1.
