Scientists have made a truly amazing discovery – spiders that are absolutely adorable. Maratus personatus are a species of peacock spider cute enough to be kept as pets. They are only a few millimeters long with furry black and white bodies and a blue mask around their saucer-shaped eyes. They look like tiny, fuzzy superheroes.

The adorable creatures were discovered in Western Australia in 2013 by mite biologist Jurgen Otto. Unlike other peacock spiders, male M. personatus don’t fan out their stomachs when seducing females. Instead, they dance around while waiving their legs about in the air. The goal is to get attention to their face, using the blue mask to attract a mate.

Start your week off right with the adorable video of the spider’s awkward-looking mating dance below.

Still scared of spiders? If his adorable fuzzy face doesn’t make you smile, the embarrassing dance will. We promise.
