Made In New York: Derek Jeter Bonds With His Fans In Gatorade’s Tribute Video

As a New Yorker and a Yankee fan, saying goodbye to our great Captain is just getting harder and harder.

I have to admit, though, the tributes to Derek Jeter so far have been beautiful, and Gatorade’s new commercial for him is no exception.

Th shortstop cruises the streets of our great city in a chauffeur-driven SUV before deciding to walk the rest of the way to Yankee Stadium instead. On the way, he meets and interacts with fans young and old, who are left in awe and smiling after he leaves.

To make things even more emotional, Frank Sinatra provides the background music for the video.

…Yes, I teared up. You can’t help but respect Jeter for what a decent guy he’s been throughout his entire career, and the Yankees lineup will undoubtedly never be the same after this season.
