During D23 Expo, Disney announced plans to create a brand-new theme park based on the Star Wars universe.

More news from Disney’s D23 Expo, and this is a big one.

Disney’s Robert Iger, everyone’s favourite CEO has today revealed that Star Wars theme parks will be coming to Disneyland and Disney World.

Covering 14 acres each (EACH!), it’s officially Disney’s largest themed land expansion in their history, with an aim to  “transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.”

Characters and locals will run restaurants and stores, with Disney already casting so if you want to work at Star Wars Land, I’d get in touch now! Bob Iger said of the theme parks:

I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars. We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever. These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Attractions include riding the Millennium Falcon (yes, really) and a secret mission customised to each guest.

There are no dates on completion yet though we can assume we won’t see it for a long time. Of course, any updates we’ll let you know!

Who’s going to be first in line?
