Doctor Who's "A Time for Heroes" trailer brings us back to the explosive world of the Doctor and his companions with Bill saying what we all believe!

It’s almost time, Whovians! In just over a month we will once again hear the dulcet sound of the TARDIS (emergency brakes and all)! The BBC released the trailer for the first episode of Doctor Who’s tenth season, “A Time for Heroes,” and we’re already in love with Pearl Mackie’s Bill!

The trailer is only 30 seconds long, but Bill, the Doctor’s newest companion, sums up our favorite Time Lord wonderfully:

“The first time you meet him, he’s fun. The second time, he’s amazing. The third time, you realize he’s the most dangerous man in the universe. He says he’s a man of peace, but he walks in war. I’m having the time of my life, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Even if it kills me.”

Indeed, the Doctor is both dangerous and exciting! It brings to mind Tim Latimer’s description of our favorite Gallifreyan from the episode “Family of Blood”:

“He’s like fire and ice and rage. He’s like the night and the storm in the heart of the sun. He’s ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and can see the turn of the universe. And … he’s wonderful.”

At the beginning of the trailer, we see Bill’s eyes widen in what we can assume is wonder. Wonder at her luck of being caught up in the Doctor’s latest adventure; wonder at the explosion of bookshelves as they walk towards certain destruction; wonder at being in the presence of someone so powerful, brilliant, and yet utterly terrifying.

The Doctor, although he was born on the planet Gallifrey, is just like anyone else. His many lives have made him reckless. But, even though they have shown him the corrupt nature of life, they have also exposed him to the beauty of it. That is why he is the universe’s sworn protector. That is why he stands up to gods and Cybermen and Daleks. That is why he stays when all others would turn and run.

That is why we keep coming back for more and why we hate it when we are met with another hiatus.
