In quite … interesting comedy news, Donald Trump has been announced as the host of an upcoming Saturday Night Live episode in November.

You can say what you want about his policies and his crazy statements, but you can’t deny that Trump actually doesn’t mind making fun of himself, as is evident in his appearances on other shows in the past, including Saturday Night Live, which he hosted previously in 2004. One memorable sketch had Darrell Hammond bringing out his Trump impersonation, only to be joined by Trump himself as a handyman there to fix Trump’s excessive apartment issues. If anything, it shows Trump actually has a sense of humor … somewhere in there.

It is not a foreign concept for political leaders to appear on Saturday Night Live during election season. Barack Obama made a memorable cameo just before his first election to office in 2008, and John McCain, himself, hosted. Sarah Palin appeared in the same sketch as Tina Fey’s impersonation, so Saturday Night Live is a popular stomping ground for politicians (none of them can beat one particular political candidate — Ralph Nader, who hosted…in 1977).

Trump will host on November 7 on NBC, which will include musical guest Sia. Do you think he’ll get the laughs?
