Blood Blockade Battlefront's finale was set to air this weekend, but has been delayed until further notice because the finale is simply too long.

This is bad news yet good news at the same time. The official website for the hit anime series Blood Blockade Battlefront has announced that they have delayed the airing of the 12th episode, which is the season finale. Blood Blockade Battlefront’s finale was set to air this weekend, but has been delayed until further notice because the finale is simply too long for its half-hour time slot. That’s certainly good news; who wouldn’t want a longer finale episode for such an amazing anime? An anime as entertaining as this deserves a proper, longer send off with hopes of a possible second season (I’m remaining hopeful of this possibility).

Instead of the scheduled finale, a Blood Blockade “special” will air in it’s place. As of right now, the finale has no air date and will be delayed until it can find a proper time-slot on it’s network.

Blood Blockade Battlefront premiered April 4th and has since been licensed by Funimation for streaming/potential home video rights and is currently a part of their spring simulcast season along with Seraph of the End and more. Dark Horse Comics, which has licensed and released the anime’s original manga, and Funimation describe the story as the following:

“A breach between Earth and the netherworlds has opened up over the city of New York, trapping New Yorkers and creatures from other dimensions in an impenetrable bubble. They’ve lived together for years, in a world of crazy crime sci-fi sensibilities. Now someone is threatening to sever the bubble, and a group of stylish superhumans is working to keep it from happening.”

If you have not given Blood Blockade Battlefront a shot, then you are missing out on a seriously great series! The series can be viewed on Hulu or Funimation’s official website. Check out the opening, official clip and broadcast dub preview of one of this years best animes down below!
