Ford Nation aired its premiere a few days ago, on Monday, November 18th. Within 24 hours, the show was cancelled by Sun News.

Should anyone be surprised? Not really.

According to the Globe and Mail, the episode took five hours to record, with an additional eight hours dedicated to solely editing. And it was highly successful, bringing in 155,000 viewers for the premiere. Regardless of how high the ratings were, it just didn’t make sense financially for Sun News to spend a large expense on producing a show long term that would only appeal to a niche network accessed by only 40 percent of Canadians.

Throughout the episode, both Mayor Rob Ford and his brother, Doug Ford, spent the majority of time defending themselves from those that questioned Ford’s ethics and credibility to run as mayor.

After admitting to the use of crack cocaine, drunk miming a Councillor Paul Ainslie at a council debate, and knocking over Councillor Pam McConnell during the break, the Toronto City Council immediately voted to take away most of Ford’s powers.

Despite a series of odd and unfortunate events in such a short duration of time, Ford made it clear on the Today show, on Tuesday, that he is not currently seeking help for drug or alcoholic problems.

What do you think? Should he be forgiven and keep his position as a mayor, or step down and be stripped of all his powers? Let us know and leave us a comment!
