The highly anticipated trailer for the next John Green book-to-film adaption is finally here!
After the huge success of The Fault in Our Stars, which was released summer of last year, Green announced that more of his books, including Paper Towns and his other worldwide bestseller Looking for Alaska, would be made into feature length films. Paper Towns is the first of the two to have its trailer released.
Paper Towns takes place in Orlando and centers around Quentin “Q” Jacobsen (Nat Wolff) and his friend/neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman (Cara Delevingne). Upon finding the corpse of a suicide victim when they were childhood friends, the story flashes forward to Quentin and Margo as high school students who have grown apart. After Margo shows up at Quentin’s bedroom window, she convinces him to sneak out and help her get revenge on people she feels have hurt her over the past year. They prank everyone on her list and stay out until it’s almost dawn. Just as Quentin starts to think their friendship may be starting to form again, he discovers that Margo has disappeared, with no sign of where she may have gone.
The full length Paper Towns trailer premiered this morning on The Today Show and offers what seems to be a genuinely good, sincere adaptation of the book featuring love, pain and comedy all wrapped into one perfectly sized story.
Whether you’ve read the book or not, Paper Towns seems like it’s going to be a great story about young love and self discovery.
