Love is in the air for Ciara and her boyfriend Future as they got engaged over the weekend.

Ciara celebrated her 28th birthday this past Friday in New York, and according to their publicist Chris Chambers, Future surprised her, proposing with a 15-carat diamond ring. The couple have reportedly been dating for a year.

The singer took Twitter to express her excitement over this wonderful event:

Though there has been talk of their relationship for over a year, it was only earlier this year that Future confirmed the relationship. He recently hinted at an upcoming proposal during an interview with New York’s Hot 97, saying: “This [is] it. I don’t get into nothing to get out. This is the one”.

Ciara collaborated with the rapper on her self-titled fifth studio album in July of this year and they appeared together in Ciara’s video for “Body Party”.

No date has been set yet as Future is currently on tour with Drake on his Would You Like a Tour? tour.

Congratulations to the couple!
