Attention Broadway, Glee, and One Direction fans, this one is for you!

A film adaptation of the famous Broadway musical Wicked could be out in cinemas by the end of 2015, and rumor has it that Glee star Lea Michele and One Direction member Harry Styles are on the top of the casting list.

It’s a no brainer that Lea Michele is nominated for the role of the wicked witch Elphaba Thropp , after all she has been on Broadway since 1995 as young Cossette in Les Misérables, followed by the 1998 original Broadway cast of Ragtime, and on  Spring Awakening as Wendla Bergmann her biggest Broadway role, and it was where she met her bestfriend Jonathan Groff. She is also known to be a “Barbra Streisand worshiper” and a huge fan of her musical Funny Girl, just like her character on Glee Rachel Berry!

Lea also performed the musical number from Wicked “Defying Gravity” on Glee’s season one, and she was AH-MAZING!

The big surprise here is casting Harry Styles. He has an outstanding voice and adds a lot to his boy band, but he has no experience with acting neither on film nor on Broadway. So he might have a lot of work to do to get the best of his character Fiyero Tigelaar.

Do you think Lea and Harry will make great Elphaba and Fiyero?

Watch Lea Michele performing “Defying Gravity” with Chris Colfer and get a hint of what you may see in the movie!
