Icona Pop’s full length album has been taking shape over the past four years. This will follow the success of the group’s latest single “I Love It”, which has been featured in episodes of The Vampire Diaries, Girls, and Dancing With the Stars. It was covered by Glee in their season finale. It can also be heard in recent commercials for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Android phone.
Fans of the electropop duo can expect further collaborations after “I Love It” with Charli XCX became such a global smash hit. We shouldn’t worry that the album will be nothing but attempts to recreate that magic.
“Of course it won’t be 15 tracks all like ‘I Love It’,” Icona Pop’s Caroline Hjelt told Digital Spy. “It will be kind of a spread album with some slower songs and some totally different rhythms. Although we are two girls that love to dance, we also go through a lot of other stuff and emotions as well.”
Though the chart-topping ladies’ lips are sealed about most of the album’s details, they’ve revealed that they’ve worked with some of the biggest names that make up the who’s who of today’s pop hits: Zebra Katz, Benny Blanco, Stargate, and Shellback to name a few.
