Iconic Actor Bob Hoskins Dies At The Age Of 71

The movie-goer community mourns when one of our idols leave us. This year, we’ve lost some considerable talents, and yesterday the overly and fiendishly talented Bob Hoskins waved his last farewell.

Hoskins, known for playing sinister but seemingly ordinary British characters, from gangsters to detectives, died last night of complications from pneumonia. This comes nearly two years after Hoskins’ retirement from the film industry, as he was unable to continue working due to his advancing age and the tragic onset of Parkinson’s Disease.

Hoskins had an interesting and diverse film career, composed of dozens of great films. However, the one film he is likely to be most remembered for is the iconic Who Framed Roger Rabbit, where he played the lead protagonist Eddie Valiant, a sad man thrown into the world of cartoon rabbits and sinister villains.

To this day that film remains beloved, and Hoskins will be remembered and revered for his impeccable work ethic and sheer brute talent for generations to come.
