Good news to How I Met Your Mother fans! 

John Lithgow will be reprising his role of Jerry Whitaker, Barney Stinson’s [Neil Patrick Harris] father, for at least one episode. It will be as part of Robin [Cobie Smulders] and Barney’s wedding storyline. 

Also joining the show is former Office cast member Ellie Kemper.

The final season of How I Met You Mother starts on September 23rd on CBS.
