We know the director, JJ Abrams. We know the estimated release date, the summer of 2015. We know where the majority of filming will be shot, Pinewood Studios, UK. We even know glimpses of the storyline, it will feature the next generation of Jedis. However, what we’ve been given no real clue to as yet is who will be in Star Wars Episode VII.
Having starred in hit films such as Bend It Like Beckham and Match Point, the Irish actor’s name is constantly popping up in relation to the new film according to EW. Though he has cautioned fans not to believe everything they hear.
Speaking to EW, he commented on the fact that the rumours are currently just that, rumours. “Look, I’ve worked with J.J. [in 2006’s Mission Impossible III]… but I don’t believe rumours.”
While that is all he’s revealing at present, it won’t stop fans from imagining how exactly he could fit in to a galaxy far, far away. Rhys Meyer’s even provides a hint for fans saying, “I play bad guys because I look like one. There’s something in my physicality that’s quite intense and lends me to being feral. I mean, I’d love to be this lovely relaxed guy doing rom-coms, but I just don’t get those types of offers. I suppose I’m forever sort of the antihero.”

I don’t know about that. I loved him in Beckham and it would be interesting to see him take on the Empire.
