Kate Winslet is gracing the cover of British Marie Claire’s November issue. Along with the photoshoot, the actress sit down to answer some questions. In her interview for the magazine, she discussed how things work between her and Titanic co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio, among other things.
The chemistry between the two of them in Titanic seemed out-of-this-world. For years, it has been assumed that the two have been involved romantically in the past, but it was kept away from the spotlight. The actress shut down the rumors, revealing that there was never any short of romance with DiCaprio. In her own words:
“I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing. It’s so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually we never did. He always saw me as one of the boys. I’ve never really been a girly-girl.”
However, it seems that the on-screen chemistry is not gone in real life. Kate Winslet and the Inception star might have never been a couple, but they are really close friends. Actually, this has been the case since the two played the lovers in Titanic, back in 1997. In 2012, DiCaprio even walked the actress down the isle at her marriage.
