Katy Perry shows off another diverse track with the follow-up to the #1 hit “Roar”, “Dark Horse.” Her smooth vocals are accompanied by the rapper Juicy J on this Max Martin and Dr. Drake produced track. While this song doesn’t feature the heavy drums and dubstep featured in last year’s “E.T.”, this medium-tempo dance tune does include icy rhythms and a heavy bass.
Despite the song’s release on iTunes, it is only a promotional track.
The song was voted by fans as the song they wanted to hear next. “Remember these are NOT singles, just tastes to enjoy!” she tweeted. She is also referring to another fan-chosen track that will be released on September 30th entitled “Walking on Air.”

This isn’t the first time Katy’s collaborated with a rapper. In 2010, she collaborated with Snoop Dogg, now known as Snoop Lion, on the hit track “California Girls.” In 2011, her song “E.T.” featured a guest verse from Kanye West.
The song is now available on iTunes. Katy’s album, Prism, is out October 22nd in the US.
