In an interview with Digital Spy, Christopher Mintz-Plasse discussed his character’s evolution from Red Mist to The Motherf**ker.

He revealed that there were scenes from Mark Millar’s original comic that had to be cut for the film, including a rape and the murder of a dog.

Director Jeff Wadlow explained the reasons behind the elimination of such violent scenes, stating how there is a greater emotional detachment from an audience reading a comic book than when watching real people on a screen. He then joked, “You can’t kill a dog! Come on, you can kill thousands of people but you can’t kill a dog!”

Wadlow and Millar also talk about the possibility (or inevitability) of a third film in the series, but that is as far as it would go, according to the comic’s creator.

Kick-Ass 2, which sees the return of Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kick-Ass and Chloë Grace Moretz as Hit Girl, is released in the UK on August 14 and in the US on August 16.
